The second rule I would change is around school crossings. Most people don’t realise but – in Victoria, at least – traffic is required to stop for pedestrians at school crossings, no matter what time of day or whether there’s a lollypop person or not. Because it’s not a well-known law, some cars stop, most cars don’t, and many aren’t prepared to stop when others do. Even some pedestrians are reluctant to cross the road in this situation.
