Noemie Fox has won gold in the women’s kayak cross, capping a dream Games for her family after her sister Jess picked up two gold medals in the first week in Paris.
Fox finished the brutal whitewater course ahead of Great Britain’s Kimberley Woods, France’s Angele Hug and Germany’s Elena Lilik.
The 27-year-old was unstoppable in the new Olympic whitewater event, winning every round before taking out the final at the Vaires-sur-Marne Nautical Stadium.
Fox had defeated her big sister in the heats of this event to progress through the competition. After Noemie won gold, a jubilant Jess jumped into the water to hug and congratulate her sister.
