No fuel shortage in Sri Lanka until next April: CPC Chairman.

It’s reassuring to know that, according to the CPC Chairman, Sri Lanka will not face a fuel shortage until next April, thanks to the placement of necessary orders and a new weekly management system for fuel stocks. This proactive approach aims to maintain a steady supply of fuel to the market.

The Chairman also touched on plans to enhance the refinery sector, which will presumably lead to a better and more consistent fuel supply. This is a positive development, as it will likely benefit the country’s economy and daily life, particularly for those who rely heavily on fuel for their livelihoods.

Regarding the recent fuel price revision, Karunarathne clarified that it was based on the current price formula, with potential improvements aimed at providing more concessions to the public in the future. This transparency is commendable and demonstrates the CPC’s commitment to responsible decision-making.

However, it’s also important to note that large concessions may not be feasible in the short term, as this could lead to fuel queues and other issues. This cautionary approach is understandable, given the delicate balance between providing relief to the public and maintaining the stability of the fuel supply.

Overall, it’s heartening to see the CPC taking proactive steps to address fuel supply concerns and ensuring transparency in their decision-making process. Here’s hoping that their efforts will lead to a more stable and efficient fuel market in Sri Lanka.
