Local postal rates have been updated starting today, bringing several changes to mailing costs and weight limits.
The minimum postage fee has risen from Rs. 50 to Rs. 70. For ordinary and business letters, the base weight limit has been increased from 20g to 30g, giving senders more flexibility without extra charges.
The postal department has also introduced a new structure for delivering promotional leaflets, differentiating rates depending on whether the delivery falls within the Local Delivery Zone or an External Delivery Zone. Additionally, the maximum weight for a single leaflet or a set of leaflets has been raised from 100g to 120g, allowing for slightly heavier mailings under the same service.
These revisions aim to streamline postal operations while accommodating the needs of businesses and individual senders.
