Ne-Yo Apologises to Sri Lankan Fans After Colombo Concert Cancellation

International R&B star Ne-Yo has issued a public apology to his Sri Lankan fans following the abrupt cancellation of his highly anticipated concert in Colombo.

In a message shared on social media, the Grammy-winning singer expressed his “deepest apologies” and said he hopes to return to Sri Lanka soon. He cited “unforeseen circumstances” as the reason for the cancellation, adding that he was disappointed not to perform for his fans.

The concert was scheduled to take place on December 28, 2025, at the Sugathadasa Outdoor Stadium. However, organisers Brown Boy Presents cancelled the event at short notice, triggering widespread backlash among ticket holders.

Following the cancellation, fraud complaints have been filed with the Kollupitiya Police. Reports indicate that the organisers had collected substantial ticket revenue—reportedly priced at Rs. 15,000 and above—before allegedly leaving the country under suspicious circumstances.

The incident has sparked public outrage, with fans demanding accountability and authorities launching investigations into the alleged financial misconduct. Many ticket holders are now calling for refunds and stronger regulations to prevent similar incidents in the future.
