NBRO issues advisory as Colombo-Kandy road reopens at Pahala Kadugannawa

The Colombo–Kandy main road at Pahala Kadugannawa, which was temporarily closed due to landslides, has been reopened following an interim solution, according to the National Building Research Organization (NBRO).

NBRO Director General Asiri Karunawardena urged motorists to follow NBRO advisories during the rainy season, noting that studies are underway to develop permanent engineering solutions. Vulnerable areas have been identified using drones, with further surveying in progress.

He made these remarks after an inspection by NBRO and the Road Development Authority today (27).
