Her journey into the world of music began in 2002 when she embarked on her career as a jazz vocalist under the mentorship of renowned composer Diliup Gabadamudalige. As a vocalist/performer with The Gypsies, Monique has injected new energy into their performances, captivating audiences with her dynamic stage presence and soulful voice.

In addition to her contributions with The Gypsies, Monique founded Sintonia in 2011, a jazz and funk band known for its innovative interpretations of popular hits. Sintonia’s performances at prestigious events such as the Senses & Soul Colombo Music Festival have further solidified Monique’s reputation as a versatile and charismatic performer.
