A Victorian teenager who had been missing for a week has been found in Western Sydney, prompting his family to thank the public who had supported them through the ordeal.
Krishank Karthik, 16, also known as Krish, left his Truganina home in Melbourne about 7.45am on Monday, August 5, to go to school, but never made it to class.
After learning their son had arrived at his high school, the teenager’s parents contacted police and photos of the teenager were circulated on social media.
After investigations into his disappearance, police located Krish in Penrith about 1am on Sunday.
“He has been reunited with his family who had travelled to NSW as per his recent sightings,” NSW Police said.
His mother, Shobana Karthik, has since thanked those who joined in on the search for her son, who she confirmed is still in Sydney, in a social media post on Sunday.
“To all the family, friends and the beautiful well-wishers, our beloved son has been found and is with his beautiful family and is safe and currently in Sydney,” she said.
“Thanks, guys, for the prayers, I don’t think so this would have been possible without all your prayers and blessings. My family and I are forever indebted to everyone.”
