A man has died after a fall at a popular waterfalls in the NSW Blue Mountains.
Paramedics and police rushed to Minnehaha Falls after the male, whose age has not been released, fell at around 1.30pm on Monday while exploring the area near Katoomba.
He was treated at the scene for serious injuries but could not be revived.
An ambulance helicopter was called but cancelled after the man died at the scene.
He is yet to be formally identified and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
Visitors often jump off a section of the 20m waterfall and into the water below.
The Falls, which are described as a “must-visit” for tourists, can be difficult to climb and slippery.
“Beautiful spot, but it’s hard to get to with lots of slippery rocks & steep metal stairs,” one person wrote on Google.
“Be aware that stairs and rocks could be quite slippery and muddy. It would be better to take your hiking shoes,” another person said.
