Dozens of firefighters are battling an enormous blaze that has engulfed a timber warehouse in Sydney’s west.
Fire and Rescue (FRNSW) crews rushed to Woorang St in Milperra to find the industrial complex well alight at around 5:45pm on Thursday night.
At least 60 crew are on the scene attempting to extinguish the blaze, with a FRNSW spokesperson telling NCA Newswire that firefighters were beginning to gain the upper hand on the fire.
Two ladder trucks are now over the top of the fire, blasting water into the centre of the burning inferno.
Despite crews beginning to gain control, adjoining properties are still under threat.
Photos from the scene show flames reaching to the top of the building while a plume of smoke reaches hundreds of metres into the air.
The inside of the warehouse is completely gutted, with no doubt the building will have to be demolished after firefighters extinguish the fire.
There have been no injuries reported and all premises nearby have been evacuated.
Local traffic management is in place and police are urging people to avoid the area.
