Maruti Alto 800 2025 Launch: Fresh Design, Fuel Efficiency, and Everyday Comfort

India’s favorite entry-level hatchback just got a major refresh. The Maruti Alto 800 2025—launched in August—brings updated styling, improved features, and its trademark budget-friendly efficiency, making it a go-to choice for students, first-time buyers, and small families.

Price & Variants
Priced between ₹2.25 lakh and ₹5 lakh (ex-showroom), the new Alto also benefits from GST 2.0 cuts, trimming up to ₹40,000 from its earlier cost. It comes in five trims, with both petrol and CNG options, and remains one of the most affordable cars on Indian roads.

Design & Dimensions
Compact and city-friendly, the car measures 3,445 mm long and 1,515 mm wide, with a tall stance and 165 mm ground clearance—perfect for speed bumps and tight urban lanes. The 2025 facelift adds a bolder grille, LED DRLs on higher trims, and six color options including Uptown Red and Mojito Green.

Interior & Features
Inside, the Alto offers seating for four, a 177-litre boot, and practical fabric upholstery. Higher trims bring a 7-inch touchscreen with Android Auto, while lower trims stick to the basics. Manual AC, cup holders, and large windows ensure comfort on daily runs.

Engine & Performance
Powered by a 796cc three-cylinder petrol engine producing 48 PS and 69 Nm, the car offers smooth 5-speed manual shifts, a top speed of 120 kmph, and fuel efficiency of 42 kmpl (ARAI). The CNG version delivers 31 km/kg. Suspension is tuned for Indian roads, making potholes and city traffic easier to handle.

Safety Upgrades
The 2025 Alto comes with dual airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, ISOFIX mounts, and child safety locks. Built on Maruti’s Heartect platform, it offers better structural safety than previous versions.

Affordability & Ownership
With annual upkeep of around ₹2,000–₹3,000 and Maruti’s widespread service network, the Alto 800 continues to be a reliable, low-cost option. A 2-year/50,000 km warranty is included, with CNG variants adding long-term savings.

For anyone looking for a budget city car with proven reliability, excellent mileage, and a few modern touches, the Alto 800 2025 remains a strong contender.
