Tourist arrivals for the first six days of March crossed the 40,000 mark.
Provisional data from the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) showed that from 1 to 6 March, the island nation welcomed a total of 40, 877 visitors.
This brings the cumulative tourist arrivals for the year so far to 467, 480. Accordingly, the daily arrival for March so far is 6, 812.
For March, the Russian Federation ranks as the largest tourist traffic generator accounting for 14 percent of the total arrivals. India ranks second, contributing to 14 percent of the arrivals, and Germany ranks third, contributing to 10 percent of the arrivals.
