Manchester City complete transfer of Claudio Echeverri from River Plate

Manchester City have completed the signing of River Plate teenager Claudio Echeverri.

The Argentine attacking midfielder, 18, joins for a fee in the region of £12.5million plus add ons.

He has signed contract until 2028 with the Premier League champions and will return to River for the remainder of the calendar year.

That is a similar arrangement that City and River agreed upon when Julian Alvarez signed in January 2022.

Echeverri captained Argentina at the Under-17 World Cup in November, scoring five goals including a hat-trick against Brazil in the quarter-finals.
