Sri Lanka have officially announced their squad for the upcoming T20I series against Pakistan, marking an important final phase of preparation before the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup kicks off on February 7.
Dasun Shanaka will continue to lead the side, with the selectors opting for a blend of seasoned performers and new faces. A few players who were not part of the initial provisional World Cup squad have been drafted in, increasing competition and giving the coaching staff extra choices as they work towards finalizing the squad for the global tournament.
The team management emphasized that this series will be used to assess form, combinations, and on-field roles, especially as Sri Lanka look to build depth in both batting and bowling departments. The presence of experienced top-order batters, all-rounders, and a strong spin unit is expected to give the side greater tactical flexibility under varying match conditions.
