Lamborghini Urus recalled in Australia

[ad_1]

The fault could cause the bonnet latch system to fail, according to the recall notice.

Lamborghini has recalled 94 examples of its Urus SUV citing a potential fault with the bonnet latch, which could see it fly open and detach while driving.

The affected vehicles are Performante and S variants, but the model year has not been specified. Drive will update this story as more information becomes available.

The recall notice, lodged with the Department of Infrastructure, says: “The hood latch striker rivet studs may have been assembled with insufficient deformation.

“If this occurs at high speeds, small gaps between the hood and front bumper could develop. This may potentially cause the latch system to fail, resulting in the hood (bonnet) opening abruptly or detaching from the vehicle.

“If the hood (bonnet) opens abruptly or detaches from the vehicle whilst driving, it may increase the risk of an accident causing injury or death to road users, bystanders, and/or damage to property.”
