Kumar Sangakkara warns public again about online AI scam ads

Kumar Sangakkara has once again warned the public about AI-generated scams circulating online that misuse his name and image to promote fake investment schemes on social media.

Sangakkara explained that doctored AI videos created using clips from his old cricket interviews are being used to give credibility to fraudulent investment platforms.

Although Sangakkara has filed complaints with the authorities regarding these scams, he revealed that no response has been received so far.

To avoid falling victim to such scams, the public is advised to:

  • Verify if the video or advertisement appears on the celebrity’s official social media accounts or verified platforms
  • Look for blue verification badges or official website links
  • Avoid clicking on links or ads leading to unknown investment platforms or requests for personal information
  • Report suspicious content immediately to the Police or Cyber Crimes Division

Authorities have been informed once again about these deceptive campaigns, which continue to circulate widely across social media and video-sharing platforms.
