Komatsu North America, based in Chicago, has announced a significant expansion of its operations in Canada with an investment to double the size of its parts distribution footprint in Edmonton, Alberta.

The new 135,000-square-foot facility will transform Edmonton from a parts depot into a full-service distribution center, enhancing service levels, reducing lead times, and providing better support to Komatsu’s dealers and customers across Canada.

“Our customers rely on Komatsu for uptime and productivity, and this investment ensures we can meet those expectations faster and more efficiently than ever,” said Danny Murtagh, Komatsu’s Vice President of Parts and Infrastructure. “By bringing parts closer to where our customers operate, we’re cutting lead times, boosting availability and improving customer service.”

The expanded facility will also serve as a cornerstone of Komatsu’s North American logistics network, streamlining supply routes from its global manufacturing hubs in Japan and Indonesia.

Additionally, the project will create new job opportunities and strengthen technological support in the region.
