One person is dead and another in hospital following a head on collision, prompting traffic chaos.
NSW Police rushed to Mamre Rd at Kemps Creek in Sydney’s west just after 6am Friday, with one driver pronounces dead at the scene.
The driver of the second vehicle was trapped for close to an hour before being freed from the wreckage by emergency services.
He was rushed to Liverpool Hospital but his condition is currently not known.
Police are currently investigating at the scene.
“Officers from Nepean Police Area Command are on-site with Crash Investigators en route to the scene,” NSW Police said in a statement.
Traffic is building in the area as Mamre Rd is closed in both directions.
Smaller vehicles are being diverted via Luddenham Rd or Wallgrove Rd, while heavy vehicles are required to use Wallgrove Rd or The Northern Rd.
