John Harbaugh has been removed as head coach of the Baltimore Ravens after an 18-year tenure, a decision made in the aftermath of Sunday’s season-ending defeat to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Baltimore suffered a tight 26–24 loss, capped by kicker Tyler Loop narrowly missing a 44-yard field goal in the dying seconds. The miss allowed the Steelers to secure both the AFC North crown and the final playoff berth, knocking their rivals out of contention.
The Ravens will now watch the postseason from the sidelines for the first time since 2021. This marks the sixth time Baltimore has missed the playoffs under Harbaugh, whose 8–9 finish this season ultimately led to his dismissal. Despite guiding the team to a Super Bowl victory in 2012, the organization chose to move in a new direction after another disappointing campaign.
