Jehan, Dunith, Muditha steer Colts CC to victory – Cricket

Colombo, Dec. 20 (Daily Mirror) – Half tons by Jehan Daniel and Dunith Wellalage and a four wicket haul by Muditha Lakshan paved the way for Colts CC to record a comfortable 66 run win on the D/L method over Ragama CC in the Major League limited over tournament encounter played at the Colts ground.

The match curtailed to 39 overs saw Colts CC taking first lease of the wicket struggling on 23 for 4 being rescued by Daniel who made 71 and Wellalage 51 who together shared 116 runs for the fifth wicket to help them end with a score of 213. Later Ragama CC in their run chase found Lakshan too hot to handle and was struggling on 103 for 7 when rain stopped proceedings.

In two other matches that were played saw Sebastianites CC pulling off a four run win on the D/L method against CCC at Panadura and Moors SC coasting to an easy seven wicket win over Police SC at Braybrooke Place.

Ragama CC 103 for 7 in 27 overs (Saminda Fernando 39: Muditha Lakshan 4/28, Akila Dhananjaya 2/16)

  • At Panadura – Sebastianites CC win by four runs on D/L method

CCC 177 in 33.5 over (Kamindu Mendis 37, Chamindu Wijesinghe 30, Sonal Dinusha 80 n.o.: Isitha Wijesundara 4/23, Charith Rajapakse 2/19, Tharindu Ratnayake 2/24)

Sebastianites CC 107 for 4 in 21 overs (Lohan de Zoysa 23, Dushan Vimukthi 37 n.o., Sachitha Jayatileke 23 n.o.: Asitha Fernando 2/17)

  • At Braybrooke Place – Moors SC won by seven wickets
