Innoscience announces new GaN driver IC designed to drive LV, MV and HV e-mode GaN HEMTs

[ad_1]

Innoscience Technology has introduced the INS1001DE GaN driver IC, specifically engineered to power single-channel GaN HEMTs in low-side, high-side, or secondary-side SR applications.

According to Innoscience, the INS1001DE is an ideal choice for maximizing the efficiency of e-mode GaN HEMTs, especially when used with Innoscience’s e-mode InnoGaN. The INS1001DE is highly ideal for high power, high frequency, and resilient power GaN applications because to its strong driving performance, rapid propagation delay, input noise deglitching, and built-in protective features such as UVLO, OVP, and OTP.

The new gate driver features both non-inverting and inverting PWM inputs, allowing for versatile operation with a controller, opto-coupler, and digital isolator. The presence of Independent Pull-up and Pull-down outputs allows for precise regulation of the pace at which a device is turned on and off. The voltage of the driver can be adjusted by the user to meet various gate requirements by utilizing an external resistor divider. A built-in 5V low-dropout regulator (LDO) is provided to power digital isolators or other circuits in high-side applications.

The INS1001DE is a component that operates within a voltage range of 6V to 20V. It has a pull-up resistance of 1.3Ω and a pull-down resistance of 0.5Ω. It is packaged in a thermally enhanced DFN3x3-10L package. The applications encompass switch-mode power supply, AC/DC and DC/DC converters, Boost, Flyback, Forward, Half-Bridge and Full-Bridge converters, synchronous rectification circuits, solar inverters, motor control, and UPS.

The main features offered by the INS1001DE single-channel GaN driver are the following:
