Defense Minister Rajnath Singh’s recent statements reflect India’s firm resolve in diplomatic engagements with China and underscore the nation’s burgeoning defense capabilities. Speaking in Ahmedabad during his campaign for BJP candidates in the Lok Sabha elections, Singh highlighted the positive trajectory of discussions between the two countries while firmly asserting India’s stance.
Singh’s assurance resonates strongly, particularly amidst concerns raised by opposition leaders regarding Chinese aggression. Emphasizing India’s transformation into a formidable military power, Singh reiterated the nation’s desire for amicable relations with neighboring countries.
“India is no longer a weak India. India has also become a powerful country from a military point of view. We want to maintain good relations with our neighboring countries,” Singh affirmed.
Addressing queries about ongoing talks with China, Singh conveyed optimism about the conducive environment surrounding the negotiations. He reassured the nation that India stands resolute, unwavering in its principles and commitments.
“I understand that we should wait for the outcome of the talks. But I want to assure the countrymen that India has not bowed down anywhere, nor will it ever bow down,” Singh declared.
Additionally, Singh expressed confidence in India’s burgeoning defense exports, signaling a positive trajectory in the nation’s defense industry. Highlighting the substantial growth in defense exports, Singh underscored the government’s commitment to indigenous defense production.
“In 2014, we exported Rs 600 crore defense items, but now the figure has crossed Rs 21,000 crore, and I can say that it is going to increase,” Singh remarked.
The Defense Minister reiterated the government’s pledge to bolster domestic defense manufacturing, ensuring self-reliance across various defense sectors.
