India hammer Maldives 6-0 to kick off SAFF U17 Championship title defense

India U17 men’s national team began their SAFF U17 Championship 2025 campaign with an emphatic 6-0 victory over Maldives in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The Blue Colts dominated from the first whistle, combining fluid attacking play with clinical finishing to announce their championship intent.

Dallalmuon Gangte scored twice, while Hrishikesh Charan Manavathi, Kamgouhao Doungel, Wangkheirakpam Gunleiba, and Aazim Parveez Najar also found the net. Wangkheirakpam was particularly influential, assisting three goals and scoring one himself.

The Blue Colts will next face Bhutan on September 19 as they aim to defend their SAFF U17 crown.
