The India AI Impact Summit 2026 opened in New Delhi today, bringing together global leaders, policymakers, industry experts and innovators to discuss the future of artificial intelligence, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighting the event as a matter of global pride.

The India AI Impact Summit 2026, one of the largest artificial intelligence conferences in the Global South, commenced in New Delhi on Monday, bringing together global leaders, policymakers, researchers, innovators and technology enthusiasts to shape discussions on the future of AI.

Running alongside the summit, the India AI Impact Expo 2026 will take place from February 16 to 20 at Bharat Mandapam, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurating the Expo at 5 PM on Monday. The event aims to showcase innovations, foster collaboration and promote responsible use of artificial intelligence across sectors.

In a series of posts on X, Prime Minister Modi welcomed global participants and highlighted the theme of the summit, “Sarvajana Hitaya, Sarvajana Sukhaya” (welfare for all, happiness for all), reflecting India’s commitment to human-centric AI development. He noted that artificial intelligence is transforming sectors such as healthcare, education, agriculture, governance and enterprise, and expressed confidence that the summit’s outcomes would contribute to a progressive and opportunity-driven future.

The Prime Minister also emphasised India’s growing role in the global AI ecosystem, citing the country’s digital public infrastructure, vibrant startup ecosystem and cutting-edge research initiatives. He described global participation in the summit as a matter of pride, showcasing India’s technological progress and the potential of its youth.

The India AI Impact Expo 2026 will span 10 arenas across more than 70,000 square metres, featuring participation from global technology companies, startups, academia, government bodies and international partners. Thirteen country pavilions will highlight international collaboration, with countries such as Australia, Japan, Russia, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy and several African nations participating.

The Expo will host over 300 curated exhibition pavilions and live demonstrations under three thematic pillars — People, Planet and Progress — with more than 600 startups presenting AI solutions already deployed at scale. Organisers expect over 250,000 visitors, including international delegates, and aim to foster partnerships and business opportunities in the global AI ecosystem.

More than 500 sessions featuring over 3,250 speakers and panelists will explore AI’s transformative role across industries and discuss strategies for inclusive and responsible AI development worldwide. The event is positioned as a platform where policy, innovation and real-world applications converge to connect technology with everyday citizens.
