Hundreds Protest Against Immigration in Nuneaton Amid Controversy Over Asylum Seekers

Nuneaton, England – Hundreds gathered outside Nuneaton Town Hall on Saturday to join an anti-immigration protest. The demonstration featured a march through the town centre, with participants waving England and Union Jack flags and chanting anti-government slogans.

The protest was sparked following claims by Warwickshire County Council leader George Finch that two men charged with raping a 12-year-old girl in Nuneaton were asylum seekers — claims the BBC has not independently verified.

Warwickshire Police reported that a 17-year-old was arrested during the protest on suspicion of making threats to cause criminal damage, but described the event as mostly peaceful. Police were actively engaged with the crowd and moved on a small group of counter-protesters. The protest dispersed by mid-afternoon.

The event was part of a wider series of anti-immigration protests across England, including Bristol, Liverpool, and Birmingham. Reform UK leader Nigel Farage also called for police forces nationwide to disclose the immigration status of charged suspects, a demand Warwickshire Police said goes against national guidelines.

Ahmad Mulakhil and Mohammad Kabir face serious charges related to the attack on a young girl in July, with the police following strict protocols on sharing personal details of suspects.
