Home Hero Triumphs: Ruixin Liu Captures First LET Title on Home Soil 🇨🇳

Chinese golfer Ruixin Liu made history at the Aramco China Championship, claiming her first-ever Ladies European Tour (LET) title in front of an electrifying home crowd at Mission Hills Golf Club. The 26-year-old finished three shots clear at 16-under-par, marking an unforgettable victory in her home city of Shenzhen.

Ruixin Liu delivered a stellar performance at the Aramco China Championship, finishing three shots ahead of her competitors to clinch her first Ladies European Tour (LET) victory at 16-under-par. The victory was made even more special as it came on home soil, at the world-renowned Mission Hills Golf Club in Shenzhen.

The composed and confident Liu impressed throughout the tournament with consistent rounds of 70, 65, and 68, drawing immense support from record-breaking home crowds. Over 11,650 fans attended across the three days — the highest turnout ever recorded at a PIF Global Series event.

Having spent most of her season competing on the LPGA Tour, Liu already has eight career victories on the Epson Tour, where she topped the Money List in 2019 to earn her promotion to the LPGA.

Speaking after her emotional win, Liu shared, “It’s incredibly special. I grew up here, but I haven’t played a professional event in Shenzhen since turning pro. To win here on my first attempt gives me tremendous confidence moving forward. The course is challenging, but the setup and organisation have been exceptional.”

Liu also expressed gratitude toward Mission Hills and Golf Saudi for their collaboration in bringing the event to life. “The course played tough, but it was beautifully presented. I hope I’ll have the opportunity to play more PIF Global Series events in the future,” she added.

At first, most fans were cheering for Liu’s close friend and compatriot Ruoning Yin, affectionately known as “Ronni.” However, as Liu began sinking more birdies and an eagle on the 16th, the crowd’s support shifted in her favour. “At the start, everyone was cheering for Ronni! But as I kept scoring, I could feel more and more people cheering for me. It felt amazing to have that home support,” Liu recalled with a smile.

The victory not only marked a personal milestone for Liu but also symbolised the growing strength and visibility of women’s golf. The PIF Global Series, organised by Golf Saudi, continues to redefine the future of women’s golf — empowering athletes, expanding opportunities, and fostering international collaboration between Saudi Arabia and China.

In a fitting finale to an inspiring event, the LET also announced an expanded 2026 PIF Global Series, featuring five elite tournaments across three continents and a combined prize pool of $15 million, reaffirming its commitment to the global advancement of women’s golf.
