A disturbing incident unfolded in Mumbai’s Kalachowkie area as a 17-year-old boy resorted to violence, attacking a 21-year-old man with a sword. The reason behind the assault was the victim’s refusal to delete inappropriate photographs of the assailant’s former girlfriend, who is also a friend of the minor. This shocking event sheds light on the complexities of modern relationships and the potential consequences of digital harassment.
In a relationship that lasted over a year, the victim allegedly took objectionable photos of the woman, who later broke up with him six months prior to the incident. Despite her persistent requests, he refused to delete the photos, causing distress to the woman. Desperate to resolve the situation, she confided in her friend, the 17-year-old boy, seeking his support.
On April 27, the woman orchestrated a meeting with the victim near Kalachowkie, where the minor boy lay in wait. Initially attempting to persuade the victim to delete the compromising images, the encounter escalated into violence when he adamantly refused. From behind, the boy launched a vicious attack with a sword, inflicting severe head injuries on the victim before continuing the assault.
Fortunately, locals intervened, rescuing the victim and rushing him to KEM Hospital for urgent medical attention. Prompt action by hospital authorities led to the involvement of law enforcement, resulting in the arrest of the assailant. The case has been registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Arms Act, with the boy being presented before the Juvenile Justice Board.
This incident underscores the importance of respecting privacy and the dangers of digital exploitation within relationships. It serves as a stark reminder of the legal ramifications associated with harassment and violence, especially in the digital age.
