As soon as Hailey Bieber announced her pregnancy, we immediately wondered what her maternity style would be like. Bieber has been one of the biggest celebrity street style icons for nearly a decade now, so it was only natural to wonder if she’d continue wearing her favorite oversized coats and blazers, vintage denim, and slinky minidresses. The answer is … yes!
On a recent trip (or was it a babymoon?) to Japan with husband and future dad Justin, Bieber wore all the Hailey classics, including low-rise baggy jeans to accommodate her growing bump; a white shirt with most of the buttons undone to give fans a peek at said bump; and an oversized blazer, of course. (Justin, for his part, matched his wife in trousers and a tailored jacket in one pic, and black pants, a white shirt, and a leather jacket in another, plus his go-to baseball cap.) Mom and dad vibes for sure!
Bieber and the oversized jacket are practically synonymous with one another. She likes them long, baggy, and in a variety of fabrics, including leather. (She’s even said they’re one of her staple pieces.) We’ve seen her pair them with corsets and sweatpants alike, and she’s even gone super, super oversized in Matrix-style leather coats.
Bieber announced her pregnancy in a sheer white lace Saint Laurent by Anthony Vaccarello gown and matching veil, and since then, we’ve seen her take on maternity style with her signature effortless cool. In a photo dump posted shortly after the big announcement, we saw Bieber in denim overalls — a maternity classic! — and a sparkly pink Y2K-inspired butterfly crop top. If Baby Bieber makes their debut in a blazer or starts wearing mommy-and-me matching ‘fits centered around a long, oversized overcoat, we will be zero percent surprised.
