Gold prices increase by Rs. 15,000 in Sri Lanka

The price of gold in Sri Lanka has risen following a surge in global gold prices.

According to the Colombo Pettah traders, the price of a 24-carat gold sovereign has increased by Rs. 15,000 today.

Accordingly, a 24-carat gold sovereign is priced at Rs. 420,000, while a 22-carat gold sovereign is sold from Rs. 386,400 in Colombo.

Meanwhile, the global price of gold per ounce surpassed USD 5,500 earlier today.
