Canada’s ice dance duo Piper Gilles and Paul Poirier created history at Skate Canada International 2025, winning their sixth consecutive gold with a total score of 202.89.

Piper Gilles and Paul Poirier continued their dominance in ice dance by making history at the 2025 Skate Canada International. The Canadian pair captured their sixth consecutive gold medal at the event, securing a total score of 202.89, a milestone no other ice dance team has achieved at this competition.

Lithuania’s Allison Reed and Saulius Ambrulevicius came close, finishing with a score of 200.92, while Canada’s Marjorie Lajoie and Zachary Lagha claimed bronze with 192.41.

After Saturday’s rhythm dance, Gilles and Poirier led with a score of 85.38, ahead of Reed and Ambrulevicius at 80.89. Sunday’s free dance saw the Lithuanians score 120.03, but it was not enough to surpass the Canadians, who earned 117.51 in their free dance performance.

The victory solidifies Gilles and Poirier’s status as Canada’s premier ice dance team, adding another historic chapter to their decorated careers.
