The international gem and jewellery exhibition, “FACETS Sri Lanka 2026,” was officially inaugurated yesterday (03) at the Cinnamon Life Hotel in Colombo under the patronage of Minister of Industry and Enterprise Development Sunil Handunnetti and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism Vijitha Herath.
Organised jointly by the Sri Lanka Gem and Jewellery Association (SLGJA), the National Gem and Jewellery Authority, and the Export Development Board (EDB), the three-day exhibition will run from January 3 to January 5.
Now in its 32nd edition, FACETS Sri Lanka is one of Asia’s leading gem and jewellery exhibitions, attracting buyers from China, India, the United States, Europe, and other countries. For the first time, representatives from world-renowned gem and jewellery companies are participating in the exhibition, alongside numerous local gem buyers.
The main objective of this year’s exhibition is to create business opportunities between local exporters and international buyers.
Regarded as one of the most prominent events in both the local and global gem and jewellery industries, FACETS Sri Lanka 2026 also serves as a platform to showcase the diversity, craftsmanship, and sustainability of Sri Lanka’s premium gem and jewellery heritage.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Minister Sunil Handunnetti, Minister Vijitha Herath, Chairman of the National Gem and Jewellery Authority Dr. S. P. Chaminda, diplomats, and other distinguished guests.
