Estate workers attached to the N.C. section of the Kotiyagala Estate in Bogawantalawa have come forward to support national recovery efforts by donating their one-day salary to the ‘Rebuilding Sri Lanka’ Fund.
The collective contribution amounted to Rs. 108,000. The donation was officially handed over yesterday (27) to National People’s Power (NPP) Nuwara Eliya District Members of Parliament, Manjula Suraweera Arachchi and Krishnan Kalaichelvi.
This gesture reflects the workers’ solidarity and commitment towards rebuilding the country during a challenging period. Despite their modest means, the estate workers demonstrated a strong sense of social responsibility by contributing to a national cause aimed at supporting recovery and development efforts across Sri Lanka.
