Dubai Gold Prices Drop Below Dh600 as Global Rates Retreat
Gold in Dubai opened lower on Tuesday, with 24-carat bullion dipping under Dh600 per gram, following a pullback in international markets after last week’s sharp rally.
The 24-carat gold price fell to Dh598.50 per gram, down from Dh602.00 the previous day, while 22-carat gold slipped to Dh554.25, from Dh557.50.
The decline reflects a wider global trend, with international gold prices retreating below the key $5,000 per ounce level.
After recent gains driven by strong global momentum, the market has cooled, offering UAE buyers—particularly those planning jewellery purchases or remittances—a potential opportunity to buy ahead of Eid Al Fitr.
Gold demand usually softens during the early days of Ramadan but tends to surge before Eid, as gifting gold jewellery remains a popular tradition among South Asian and Arab communities.
