Dubai Fashion Week set to return in February

Firmly cementing its presence on the global fashion calendar, Dubai Fashion Week (DFW) has revealed its official comeback for the Fall/Winter 2025 showcase this coming February.

The fourth iteration of DFW will take place from February 1 to 6, 2025, kicking off the global fashion calendar ahead of New York Fashion Week, London Fashion Week, Milan Fashion Week and Paris Fashion Week.

Setting the tone for the FW25 season, DFW, co-founded by Dubai Design Design (d3) and the Arab Fashion Council (AFC), will see a roster of exciting new launches from brands across the Middle East, Asia and Europe.

The six-day event will showcase a list of over 25 exceptional labels of ready-to-wear and couture collections from France, India, Indonesia, Italy, Kuwait, Palestine, Russia, Libya and others to grace the runway.

Adding on to the burgeoning excitement, the city will yet again round the event with exclusive experiences, from presentations, to private invite-only dinners, and global international brands hosting a myriad of collection launches.

Noting the launch of a new initiative coined as the ‘Buyer’s Programme,’ Mohammed Aqra, Chief Strategy Officer of the Arab Fashion Council stated the next season will further elevate designers to internationally renowned buyers –proving once more the city’s commitment to nurture talent.

“With the launch of the Buyer’s Programme, we are making a pivotal contribution to the growth of the region’s fashion industry and its economic impact,” he said.

The program highlights DFW’s strategic platform to bridge the gap between local designers to exclusive opportunities to tap into new markets.

Commenting further on the value of the Buyer’s Program, Aqra said: “By connecting local designers with top international buyers, we aim to drive sustainable business expansion, stimulate economic growth, and enhance the global prominence of Arab fashion.”

This initiative will officially start accepting applications this December 22, 2024, with final selections made and announced by early January of the next year.

Looking Back Ahead Of The Next Season

The most recent edition of Dubai Fashion Week started and ended on a high note, truly fastening the emirate as a global platform for both regional and international designers to present their collections.

The SS25 showcase saw the curtains rise for the iconic Italian luxury brand Roberto Cavalli who closed the edition in a spectacular display of Fausto Puglisi’s creative finesse.

Never once halting with enthusiasm, the five-day event sparked with notable highlights: Rizman Ruzaini’s enthralling opening, Dima Ayad’s ode to femininity, and Dubai-based Filipino haute couture label, Michael Cinco’s captivating collection.
