Given that she makes dance pop music, you probably didn’t think Dua Lipa would be in attendance at the Academy of Country Music Awards in Frisco, Texas, but the musician was a surprise performer for the awards show, and she duetted with Chris Stapleton in a gorgeous, mermaid-like peekaboo lace gown.
Lipa, who sang Stapleton’s song “Think I’m in Love with You” with the artist, wore a high-necked sleeveless dress in a shimmering midnight blue. The dress had an asymmetrical neckline and flowed into a combo of deep blue sequins and lace for a semi-see-through effect, ending in a swishy high-low mermaid hem. (She did play Mermaid Barbie, after all.)

Lipa wore the gown with a matching pair of deep blue Louboutin heels, a diamond tennis bracelet, and a plethora of earrings laddered up each ear. Her deep cherry cola red hair was pulled up into a simple knot and she wore shimmery eye shadow and a rusty brown lip (perhaps her go-to YSL shade?), plus burgundy nails.

Sheer and see-through looks are a mainstay of Lipa’s wardrobe; she is a pop star after all! In early 2023, she went goth for a fashion show in a sheer black lace jumpsuit, and later that year, did a 180 in a see-through white dress. We’ve seen her incorporate feathers and opera gloves into her sheer-centric looks, proving that there’s always a moment for a see-through look.
Prior to the ACMs, Lipa was in London for Gucci’s cruise show, where she wore a black leather Gucci logo jacket, hot pants, and loafers. Honestly, we’d love nothing more than to take a tour through Lipa’s closet, because she has been turning out look after look lately.
