Dominant Pakistan Seal 6-Wicket Win Against Sri Lanka in First T20I

Pakistan claimed a comfortable six-wicket victory over Sri Lanka in the opening T20I in Dambulla, giving them a 1–0 advantage in the three-match series.

From the start, the home side struggled to gain control. Pakistan skipper Salman Ali Agha elected to field first, and the decision paid off as Sri Lanka were bowled out for 128 in 19.2 overs.

Chasing a modest target of 129, Pakistan openers Saim Ayub (24) and Sahibzada Farhan (51) set a solid platform. Although Sri Lanka’s bowlers staged a small comeback by picking up four wickets — including Salman’s dismissal for 16 and Fakhar Zaman’s early exit for just 5 — the total was too small to defend.

Pakistan eventually reached the target in 16.4 overs, with Shadab Khan (18)* and Usman Khan (7)* guiding the team home without further damage.

Earlier in the match, Salman Mirza and Abrar Ahmed starred with the ball, each taking three wickets. Mohammad Wasim and Shadab Khan also chipped in with two wickets apiece.

For Sri Lanka, Janith Liyanage top-scored with a fighting 40 off 31 balls, hitting two boundaries and one six in an otherwise underwhelming batting display.
