A deep freeze continues to grip much of Ontario, with residents bundling up to combat frigid conditions.
Environment Canada has issued a yellow cold warning for southern Ontario as well as large portions of the province’s northern regions. The agency is cautioning that wind chills could drop as low as -35°C in some areas, with icy temperatures expected to persist into Monday.
Ottawa has already felt the bite of the cold, with wind chills reaching -34°C on Saturday. Meanwhile, the Greater Toronto Area experienced blowing snow and a wind chill of -33°C over the weekend.
The frigid weather in Ontario stands in stark contrast to Western Canada, where unusually warm temperatures in Alberta and British Columbia have led to multiple daily records being broken.
