Danisense unveiled two new current transducers at APEC 2024.

For galvanically isolated measurements up to 750 A, Danisense showcased its DW500UB-2V high precision fluxgate AC/DC current transducer at APEC 2024, in addition to their DN1000ID current transducer, which is designed for use in electric vehicle (EV) test benches and battery testing and evaluation systems.

Electric vehicle (EV) test benches can accommodate power cables with big power connections thanks to the DN1000ID current transducer’s 41.2mm aperture, which facilitates rapid changeovers. Because test bench operators frequently encounter the problem of power connectors that are larger than the cable diameter, making it difficult to fit them in the aperture of the current transducer and often necessitating extra work to resolve this issue, the large aperture is an important advantage. In terms of aperture size and 1000A nominal current, the new device provides the optimal compromise while retaining the best phase shift and accuracy measurements.

The DN1000ID current transducers, like with all Danisense products, are designed to utilize the high stability closed loop fluxgate technology. A small aluminium housing, a linearity of 1 ppm, and an offset of 5 ppm are some of the other technical characteristics. The product is also intended for use in precision drives, current calibration, gradient amplifiers for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) equipment, particle accelerators, power measurement and analysis, and MPS.

The DW500UB-2V fluxgate AC/DC current transducer is a high precision device that can detect currents of up to 750 A. It has exceptional accuracy, with a linearity of 10 parts per million (ppm) and a low offset of 15 ppm. The latest power conversion products, which utilize wide bandgap semiconductor technologies like gallium nitride (GaN) and silicon carbide (SiC), have imposed higher frequency requirements. In response, Danisense has made revisions to its winding processes, resulting in an impressively wide bandwidth of up to 10MHz. The primary focus of this study is the measuring of power in laboratory settings, specifically for the purpose of optimizing power converter design, particularly in the context of e-mobility applications.

The utilization of DW series current transducers extends beyond power measurement and power analysis for stable power supplies. These transducers find application in particle accelerators, gradient amplifiers for MRI equipment, precision drives, battery testing and evaluation systems, as well as current calibration reasons.
