Colombo, Jan. 26 (Daily Mirror) – The Sri Lankan pair of Methwan Wijemanne and Vichinthya Nilaweera clinched the Boys’ Doubles title at the ITF Junior Week-1 Tennis Tournament, continued at the SLTA Courts in Green Path, Colombo.
Wijemanne and Nilaweera rallied around magnificently and went on to beat the Israel and Japanese pair of Uri Glon and Riku Higashi in straight sets in the final encounter.
Earlier, Methwan missed out on winning two titles as he was beaten by India’s Kevin Suresh in the Boys’ Singles final.
Meanwhile in the Girls’ category, in a battle between two South Koreans, Seo Yun Choi prevailed while the South Korean and Chinese Taipei pair of Siyoen Sim and Yang Rong bagged the Doubles title with a win against the pair from Malaysia and China.

- Girls’ Singles: Seo Yun Choi (South Korea) beat Siyoen Sim (South Korea) 6-3, 6-3.
- Boys’ Singles: Kevin Suresh (India) beat Methwan Wijemanne (Sri Lanka) 6-4, 6-0.
- Girls’ Doubles: Siyoen Sim (South Korea)/Yan Tzeng (Chinese Taipei) beat Daanla Hazli (Malaysia)/Jihan Li (China) 6-3, 6-4.
- Boys’ Doubles: Methwan Wijemanne/Vicinthaya Nilaweera (Sri Lanka) beat Uri Glon (Israel)/Riku Higashi (Japan) 6-2, 6-4.
