Mar. 20 (Daily Mirror) – The fourth match of the MILO Football Champs 2024 – Northern Province,(under 10 and under 12) was held in the Kilinochchi district over the weekend with the participation of 22 teams, comprising 6 Girls teams and 16 Boys teams.

Emerging victorious this weekend were Kn/Thiruvaiyaru Maha Vidyalaya (Girls under 10), Kn/Iranaitheevu Roman Catholic Tamil Mixed School (Boys – under 10), Kn/Vivekanantha Maha Vidyalaya (Girls under 12) and Kn/Iranaitheevu Roman Catholic Tamil Mixed School (Boys under – 12).

From this weekend’s event, the teams representing the following schools are qualified to compete in the highly anticipated final round, scheduled to be held at the Duraiappa Stadium in Jaffna on March 23.

  • Under 10 Girls: Kn/Thiruvaiyaru Maha Vidyalaya
  • Under 10 Boys: Kn/Iranaitheevu Roman Catholic Tamil Mixed School

                                      Kn/Thiruvaivaru Maha Vidyalaya

  • Under 12 Girls: Kn/Vivekanantha Maha Vidyalaya

                                      Kn/Thiruvaiyaru Maha Vidyalaya

                                      Kn/Vaddakachi Central

                                      Kn/Theresa Girls College

  • Under 12 Boys: Kn/Iranaitheevu Roman Catholic Tamil Mixed School

                                      Kn/Kumulamunai Government Mixed School

                                      Kn/Kilinochchi Central

                                      Kn/Valaippadu Roman Catholic School.

Unleashing the potential of future football stars, the MILO Football Champs programme aims to ignite the sportsmanship skills of aspiring athletes in the Northern Province.

Alongside the tournament, a select group of talented individuals will receive specialized training on weekends over the coming months, guided by seasoned coaches from the Sri Lanka Schools Football Association.

With the support of the Ministry of Education, Northern Province Department of Education, and the sponsorship of Nestlé MILO, the Sri Lanka Schools Football Association will manage the facilitation of this programme.

Nestlé MILO, in its journey towards fostering talent at grassroot level in all sports in Sri Lanka and championing gender diversity in sports, sponsors this programme with a vision of nourishing the future generations of Sri Lanka.
