Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi arrived in Sri Lanka early this morning (12) on a brief transit visit while returning to China after completing an official visit to South Africa.
He landed at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake from Durban, accompanied by a 17-member Chinese delegation.
The transit stop follows high-level diplomatic engagements in South Africa, where Minister Wang Yi held official discussions as part of China’s ongoing international diplomatic outreach. No official meetings have been scheduled in Sri Lanka during the short stay.
