With the New Year now underway, the spotlight returns to the annual CES trade show, where tech companies from around the world showcase the innovations they plan to bring to consumers in 2026.
LAS VEGAS CES 2026 officially kicks off this week in Las Vegas, drawing attention to the latest advancements across a wide range of industries, including robotics, healthcare, automotive, wearables, gaming, and more. Organized by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), the multi-day event serves as a global stage for companies to unveil products and technologies that are expected to shape the year ahead.
Artificial intelligence remains at the heart of the discussion, influencing nearly every category of innovation. Industry leaders are set to highlight their AI-driven solutions: Nvidia’s CEO Jensen Huang will present the company’s newest productivity tools, while AMD CEO Lisa Su is scheduled to keynote on future AI applications. AI is also expected to feature prominently in presentations from other major companies, including Lenovo, led by CEO Yuanqing Yang.
Healthcare technology is one area seeing notable AI adoption. Innovations aim to not only treat medical conditions but also encourage healthier lifestyle habits. For instance, Beyond Medicine has developed a prescription app focused on a specific jaw disorder, while other projects are addressing gaps in critical datasets, such as those related to breast milk production.
Robotics is another major focus at CES 2026. Korean tech giant LG plans to unveil its new household assistant robot, “CLOiD,” designed to perform a variety of domestic tasks. Hyundai is also pushing forward in robotics, highlighting improvements in manufacturing and automation. Extended reality (XR) is expected to complement these advances, offering immersive virtual environments for training robots and testing AI-driven physical systems.
Last year, CES attracted over 141,000 attendees representing more than 150 countries, regions, and territories. Organizers anticipate similar participation in 2026, with over 3,500 exhibitors filling the expansive show floor. The AP spoke with CTA Executive Chair and CEO Gary Shapiro to discuss what visitors can expect from CES 2026. Shapiro emphasized that the show will feature a wide array of innovations, reflecting the rapid pace of change in technology and its increasing influence on daily life.
