Brisbane Heat vs Hobart Hurricanes Preview

It’s on in Queensland, as the Brisbane Heat light up the Gabba to take on the Hobart Hurricanes in what will be a terrific game for Big Bash fans.

At the Gabba, the Heat are 6-6 against the Canes, which is interesting given the Hurricanes form during the season.

If Brisbane win tonight, it not only makes their record 7-6 at the Gabba against Hobart, but it will also secure them a spot in the top four and prevent them from falling below 4th.

Who will be the players to stand out?

Heat captain Colin Munro has been hot and cold this tournament and he’s ready to show Brisbane Heat fans what he’s got.

The Kiwi international has averaged 41.5 and in hindsight isn’t great considering he got 99 not out in the first game of the comp, however, he’s ready to compete and put on a show.

Munro has relied on several bowlers for this tournament but none more than Spencer Johnson.

The newest IPL millionaire steaming in at the Gabba is enjoyable to watch claiming one or more wickets in four of his last five resulted matches.

Looking towards Hobart’s bowling attack, especially captain Nathan Ellis.

Ellis has the perfect pace and variation for the Gabba in comparison to Riley Meredith.

The Hobart Hurricanes captain has taken 1 or more wickets in five of the last six resulted games.

I’ve been looking at the numbers and Matthew Wade was the one that caught my eye.

The 35-year-old veteran has had a noticeable back issue, and with this must-win game on the horizon, he should be ready to guide his Hurricanes to Brisbane’s first loss.

Here are my selections for tonight’s matchup.

Same Game Multi

  • Brisbane Heat to win
  • Spencer Johnson 1+ Wicket
  • Colin Munro 20+ Runs
  • Nathan Ellis 1+ Wicket
  • Matthew Wade 20+ Runs
