A New South Wales dealership has kicked off the BMW Classic program on our shores, but the car maker wants to grow throughout its network.
A BMW dealership in New South Wales has become Australia’s first in offering a restoration service for its classic models.
Worthington BMW in Somersby, an hour north of Sydney, is the first to become a BMW Classic partner, with experts from the company’s headquarters in Munich training up local staff.
The Australian arm says it is keen to expand the service out in future to its 48-dealer network locally.
Already a successful venture across 151 dealerships in other global markets, the BMW Group Classic service offers owners of historic BMWs the opportunity to meticulously restore and maintain their treasured vehicles – ensuring they remain roadworthy and timeless.
“BMW’s heritage, dates back 108 years, is extremely important to our brand. The introduction of BMW Classic service has been successfully offered at our BMW Group Classic department in Munich for many years,” said Wolfgang Buechel, CEO of BMW Group Australia.
“With a vibrant community of classic BMW enthusiasts in Australia, including 15 BMW Clubs nationwide that have over 5000 members, this service will be a one-stop shop for customers who want to restore or maintain their classic BMWs in top condition.
To mark the launch of BMW Classic at Worthington BMW, eight classic vehicles are on display in the showroom, allowing enthusiasts and customers to get up close and personal with the classic vehicles.
