Though many celebs and influencers have been wearing scarves over their hair, Lisa decided to test out the “scarf as a belt” look instead. She threaded a pale pink patterned scarf through the belt loops of a teeny tiny black micro miniskirt and tied it in a loose bow, adding a touch of soft sweetness to the moto-inspired skirt while posing to the beat of an unreleased song.

The pop star and burgeoning actor paired the mini with a cropped white baby tee and knee-high black boots, plus a mini bag and sunglasses — a very 2000s interpretation of the scarf trend. Seriously, this look could have come straight outta 2004, but that’s not a surprise for anyone who keeps up with Lisa’s closet; she loves a touch of Y2K in her outfits, like the Louis Vuitton Speedy Bag and flared jeans she wore in a recent selfie.
There are so many different ways to incorporate a scarf into your look this summer. You could follow Lisa’s lead and swap your favorite belt for a scarf instead, tie one around your neck in a cute, coquettish bow, add a scarf to your handbag strap for a timeless chic vibe, or wear it over a baseball cap, as Hailey Bieber did at Coachella. The scarf can be ’50s movie star-inspired, French girl chic, hippie cool, and basically everything in between. Who would have thought that such a small piece of fabric had so many styling possibilities?
