BLACKPINK’s Jisoo Is the New Face of self-portrait — See Photos

Although the BLACKPINK member does already represent a handful of fashion brands like Dior and Alo, this new campaign and budding collaboration with self-portrait does mark a series of first. Notably, this is the first contemporary fashion campaign that Jisoo has worked on and the first new collaboration she’s done since launching her own agency, Blissoo.

Jisoo is also the first musician to be a face for self-portrait. The brand has previously worked primarily with models like Emily Ratajkowski, Gigi Hadid, Irina Shayk, and Bella Hadid.

“Music has always played an important part in my life; it has been a universal language which has been a companion to me since I was very young, bonding me to communities from all around the world,” Han Chong, founder and creative director of self-portrait said in a press release. “Musicians quickly became a great source of inspiration for me as a designer — through their costumes, their chameleonic evolutions, and mesmerizing performances. I’ve therefore always wanted to work with an artist who could transmit the values we hold at self-portrait and who represents the women we connect with globally.”



Jisoo’s relationship with self-portrait is not new; the star has been seen sporting the brand’s designs, both on and off the stage, a handful of times in the past. That said, the newly unveiled partnership will take things to the next level.

“Whenever we work with a campaign star, I always want to build a deep and long-lasting partnership — something that transcends imagery,” Chong teases exclusively to Teen Vogue. “Jisoo has been a wonderful part of the self-portrait family for many years — wearing our collections on stage and in her personal wardrobe, so we see this first campaign as a natural and official next step to our relationship together. She’s such an inspiring role model to so many and a great source of inspiration to me as a designer — this is just the beginning, watch this space!”
