Ragama Resident Arrested at BIA with Rs. 255 Million Worth of Kush Hidden in Silencers

COLOMBO — Sri Lanka Customs has arrested a 38-year-old man from Ragama for allegedly attempting to smuggle a large quantity of “Kush” cannabis into the country, with an estimated street value of Rs. 255 million.

The suspect had arrived at Bandaranaike International Airport from Bangkok, Thailand, on a SriLankan Airlines flight.

During an inspection of his four suitcases, customs officials uncovered 25.5 kilograms of the narcotics, which had been cleverly concealed inside 16 exhaust silencers.

The suspect is currently in custody while further investigations are underway.
