Colombo, Dec. 18 (Daily Mirror) – A 79 ball knock of 100 inclusive of seven boundaries and six sixes by Avishka Fernando helped SSC to record a close 14 run win on D/L method over NCC in a high scoring Major Club limited over cricket tournament encounter played at the SSC ground.
Fernando’s ton saw SSC taking first lease of the wicket making a formidable score of 337 for 7 and NCC in their run chase despite a top knock of 135 by Pathum Nissanka was on 248 for 6 having faced 36 overs when rain put a stoppage to proceedings. In the other matches that were played saw Panadura SC along with Army SC and Chilaw Marians CC coming out victorious.
