Ananya Panday believes that both success and failure shape one’s journey, emphasizing her commitment to learning from mistakes and maintaining a positive outlook.
Ananya Panday is redefining success by embracing both its highs and lows. The young actor, known for her debut in “Student of the Year 2” and roles in films like “Pati Patni Aur Woh” and “Khaali Peeli,” views mistakes as valuable lessons rather than setbacks. She believes that each failure is a stepping stone to success.
“Success as well as failure is a part of the journey. There will be successes and there will be failures. I strongly believe that if there is a down, there will be an up, and if there is up, there will be down,” she shares. Ananya recently completed filming for Shakun Batra’s untitled project, co-starring Deepika Padukone and Siddhant Chaturvedi.
Despite her second movie, “Khaali Peeli,” receiving a lukewarm response on digital platforms during the pandemic, Ananya remains detached from conventional definitions of success and failure. “One has to be neutral when both of the things happen,” she reflects.
Ananya, who entered the entertainment industry in 2019, acknowledges the unpredictable nature of showbiz. “When I entered showbiz, there was nothing about the industry or the experiences that I was prepared for. Everything was new to me, and every experience has been a new one for me,” she explains.
Often perceived as having an easy entry into Bollywood due to her father Chunky Panday’s legacy, Ananya has faced her share of challenges. From online trolling and criticism for her remarks to fashion choices and body shaming, she has encountered various forms of public scrutiny. Yet, she chooses to rise above it with confidence.
“It is kind of funny because I am less conscious now,” Ananya says about her approach to fashion and public perception. Recognizing her influence on younger fans, she encourages them to be authentic. “I started putting out this messaging to come as the way you are, dress the way you want to, wear what makes you comfortable and makes you happy,” she advocates, consistently taking a stand against cyberbullying.
Ananya’s philosophy is simple: have fun, make mistakes, and laugh it off. “That is the kind of mantra that I try to live by, hoping that the young girls and boys out there do that as well,” she expresses.
Currently, Ananya is working on Puri Jagannadh’s pan-India film “Liger” alongside Vijay Deverakonda. Reflecting on the lockdown period, she admits, “Sitting at home, I was just missing working and meeting my friends.”
