Prime Minister Anthony Albanese wrapped up his campaign day with a heartfelt visit to the Exodus Foundation charity in Ashfield, located within his own electorate of Grayndler. Accompanied by his fiancée, Jodie Haydon, and Social Services Minister Amanda Rishworth, Albanese returned to familiar and supportive ground, reinforcing his long-standing tradition of aiding the needy through the charity, especially around the holiday season.
Despite Grayndler being a safe Labor seat, the Prime Minister’s visit carried a significant promise — a $10 million government pledge to bolster the Exodus Foundation’s ongoing work, should Labor secure re-election.
“I am so proud to call Bill a friend, and to have seen up close the impact his work has made on many thousands of people – and I’m proud that my government will support his legacy to continue,” Albanese stated, highlighting his personal connection to Reverend Bill Crews and the vital community support the charity provides.
The announcement also reflects Labor’s continued focus on addressing cost of living pressures, a key theme throughout the campaign.
